Computer help with HP

Hi there, I have downloaded the new Vista Beta 2 and I was wondering a few things. With my Hewlett Packard, my drive is partitioned into 2 drive with my d: drive being the backup containing all the backups of my computer. If I install beta 2, will it screw up the drive and merge everything or will ot all be safe, incase I want to revert to Windows XP again? Would the upgrade feature work better for this? -- 3800+ AMD Athlon Processor 200 GB HDD 256 Meg Geforce Video

Ive got a HP computer with the same backupdrive
There is no problem in installing Vista (on a clean C:\ or upgrade) the backup drive is still there...
i recomend you burn the information to a DVD First so you have a backup DVD if somthing goes tottaly wrong. (just in case...)
